The Swiss Post chooses Oxygen to renovate its motorbicycles
under the banner of ecosustainability.
From the Italian company, 250 new scooters with zero emissions: the largest European ecological fleet to eliminate pollution and cut fuel costs.
Berne, 25th September 2008. 250 Made in Italy electric scooters to deliver mail in all the Swiss cantons from Berne to Zurich, from Lausanne to Basle with the efficiency and respect of the environment. The Swiss Postal Service trusts the innovative technology of the Italian company Oxygen, a leader in Europe for the development, production, sales and distribution of light electrical vehicles. A true change for the Swiss Post, which has always boasted reliability and punctuality, that can be now considered a forefront company as concerns its respect for the environment and the saving of energy with the largest fleet of electric scooters in Europe. Their goal? The highest performance and zero emissions.
The agreement between the Swiss Post and Oxygen aims at modernizing their fleet of scooters, which presently includes about 7,000 units, by eliminating pollution and cutting the constantly rising fuel costs without renouncing its performance and reliability: in fact, electrical scooters guarantee a considerable savings in comparison to the same models supplied with petrol.
This initiative shows the will of the Swiss Post, the National Postal Operator of Switzerland, to concretely operate in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, and it is coherent with the company’s ethic code that foresees combining ecology with economy and social values. In fact, the Oxygen’s technology allows for the optimization of efficiency by dramatically decreasing acoustic and atmospheric pollution and, at the same time, improving the service to customers as well as the productivity and satisfaction of employees, who are personally committed to keep the environment healthier and cleaner.

Resulting from significant investments in Research and Development, the new Cargoscooter is designed to meet the company’s needs in the sector of deliveries, thanks to the complete customization that Oxygen offers though a strict collaboration with the customers during each phase of the product development. Reliable, sturdy, perfectly balanced, they can carry up to 90 kilos in the rack and are ideal for urban roads, thanks to their versatility of use and autonomy up to 120 km with only one charge. Built with easy to replace components in a number smaller than standard vehicles, Oxygen’s Cargoscooters reduce maintenance expenses and intervention times.
