Our History

Oxygen S.p.A. started its operation in late 2001. Under new management in 2004, the strategic direction was re-focused on the fleet market and in 2004 Oxygen developed the Cargoscooter with a Ni-Zn technology battery, a project which was co-financed by the Dutch Government.

In October 2006, the Company changed its battery technology from Nickel-Zinc to Lithium-Ion and built an all-electric PostScooter for the postal delivery market. This vehicle, featuring a proprietary Direct Drive Propulsion System, has been designed to reduce energy costs and slash maintenance expenses, increase efficiency and driver safety, eliminate pollution and reduce noise. The PostScooter is the result of four years of development and two years of comprehensive testing in cooperation with postal organizations.

As of July 2007, our customers operate approximately 200 Cargoscooters units daily. These vehicles have traveled on average in excess of 7,000 km and several units have traveled in excess of 15,000 km.

In recognition of the Company’s achievements, Oxygen was nominated at the 2007 World Mail Awards in the Corporate Social Responsibility category for its PostScooter initiative.

Today, our products are industry state-of-the-art and demand is strong, putting us in an ideal position .
