The Oxygen family of vehicles runs on a direct-drive brushless in-wheel electric motor. Without mechanical transmissions, the direct drive motor does not waste power on friction, and therefore retains all of its energy. Furthermore, its electric nature eliminates the use of oil and thus does away with messy and dangerous oil leaks, and reduces considerably any noise and vibrations emitted from usage.
