Reuter Brooks: Constructive Trials and Data Analysis

With a constructive approach, Reuter Brooks performed an intensive five-week test of the Oxygen PostScooter Long Range model (four Saphion Lithium-Ion batteries; 120 km range) in its international and UK Overnight operations (click here for results).

Over 24 working-days (approximately five weeks), Reuter Brooks tested actual range, delivery productivity and asked to its couriers to assess five scooter performance indicators: Acceleration, Maintaining Speed, Braking, Handling and Confidence.

As per the table, data shows that the Oxygen PostScooter ran 2,200 km with an average of 92 km a day without any need of assistance. The total scooter range of the PostScooter - calculated by adding the actual km traveled every day to the km-equivalent remaining in the battery at the end of the day – can vary depending on driving style and road conditions but topped even 156 km with one full charge. The average theoretical total daily range with one full charge was 115 km.
Couriers assessed the scooter with very high grades. PostScooter average performance indicators for Acceleration, Maintaining Speed, Braking, Handling, and Confidence are all between 8.4 and 8.9 on a 1 to 10 scale.

Reuter Brooks also confirmed savings on energy in the range of 85% as opposed to petrol costs and of course, with the Oxygen PostScooter, couriers can drive for free in congestion-charge zones in London center. John Lister, Managing Director of Reuter Brooks and Chairman of The Despatch Association (the Independent UK courier association), says: “Collecting data has also been very useful to us to understand our utilization characteristics. The Oxygen Postscooter impressed us with its silence, low energy consumption and manoeuvrability. We appreciated the partnership approach of Oxygen and their ability to provide a quick after-sale service”.
