The impact of motor vehicles on the environment is a genuine concern and pressure for governments and consumers to go green is being felt worldwide.

Increasing legislative action is being taken to restrict the existence and running of polluting vehicles and agents. These laws include charging citizens to travel in city-centers, closing these urban areas all-together to traffic and congestion, and outright limitations on the sales of polluting vehicles. Due to the high emission rates of gas powered scooters and their popularity for both business and personal use in European and Asian urban areas characterized by narrow streets, scooters are a big target for regulation. Emissions of greenhouse gases from gas-powered scooters can reach up to 30 times those of a standard automobile.

As polluting fossil-fuel burning vehicles become increasingly regulated and potentially obsolete, the immediate transition to non-polluting electric energy is the only viable option.

Not only does the use of electric power lower pollution levels, it is also lowers the bottom line. As oil prices and costs increase, electric power, which costs only a fraction of the price to operate and maintain, is the natural alternative.
